Biography

Ross L. Fogleman III grew up in Eastern North Carolina and attended Duke University, where he received a degree in Economics in 1977. He received his law degree from Washington University in St. Louis in 1980, and moved to Sarasota, where he joined the State Attorney’s Office. After prosecuting criminal cases for almost five years in Sarasota, Manatee and DeSoto counties, Mr. Fogleman joined the firm of Robinson & Robinson, P.A. in 1985. He was named a partner in Robinson, Robinson & Fogleman, P.A. in 1989 and the firm became Fogleman & Rosenkoetter, P.A. in 1991. Mr. Fogleman merged his practice with Dickinson & Gibbons, P.A. in April, 2012.

Since 1985, Mr. Fogleman has focused his practice on the defense of Southwest Florida physicians, dentists and other healthcare professionals and entities from Tampa to Naples accused of professional negligence and license violations. Mr. Fogleman’s practice areas with Dickinson & Gibbons include medical and dental negligence defense, defense of professional licenses and general health care law issues in both Court and Administrative proceedings. Mr. Fogleman has lectured on legal topics to physicians and other health care providers on behalf of the Charlotte, Lee and Sarasota County Medical Societies, Sarasota Memorial Hospital Foundation, Southwest Florida Osteopathic Medical Society and Ophthalmic Mutual Insurance Company.

Ross Fogleman is admitted to practice in the State of Florida, the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida, The United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit and the Supreme Court of the United States of America. He is a member of The Florida Bar Association, Sarasota County Bar Association, Florida Defense Lawyers Association (FDLA) and the Defense Research Institute (DRI). He has served as member of the Twelfth Judicial Circuit Fee Arbitration Committee and the Twelfth Judicial Circuit Guardian Ad Litem Advisory Panel. He has volunteered his services to the Sarasota Youth Sailing Program and to the Sarasota Scullers Youth Rowing Program, and serves on the local Alumni Admissions Committee for Duke University.
