David S. Preston attended Northwestern University and The Ohio State University, where he graduated Summa Cum Laude with Honors in 1990 with a B.A. in Political Science and Economics. He attended law school at the University of Miami (FL) and obtained his J.D., Cum Laude, in 1994. He was admitted to the Florida Bar in 1994 and joined the Firm as an associate. He became a partner with the Firm in 2001.

Mr. Preston's area of practice is general civil litigation with an emphasis on trial practice. His diverse practice includes employment law, products liability, general tort liability, personal injury, automotive/transportation, insurance defense and general commercial litigation. Mr. Preston's trial experience includes over 25 jury trials in many jurisdictions throughout the State and Federal Courts of Florida. He has successfully defended numerous multi-million dollar damage cases in jury trials in both the State and Federal Courts, while representing financial institutions, Fortune 500 companies, insurance companies, and both national and local area businesses. He has defended numerous wrongful death lawsuits and claims involving catastrophic injuries. Mr. Preston has also represented both individuals and management in employment disputes in jury trials and arbitration proceedings in the areas of employment discrimination, retaliation, non-competition agreements, wage and hour violations, separation agreements and breach of contract.

Mr. Preston is admitted to practice in the State of Florida and the Federal District Courts for the Middle District and Southern District of Florida. He is a member of The Florida Bar Association, Sarasota County Bar Association, Florida Defense Lawyers Association (FDLA), Defense Research Institute (DRI), National Employment Lawyers Association (NELA) and the Association of Trial Lawyers of America (ATLA).
