Deborah J. Blue is a native born Floridian who received her J.D. from Stetson University in 1985. She was an assistant State Attorney in the Twelfth Judicial Circuit until she joined the firm of Dickinson & Gibbons, P.A., in 1991. She became a shareholder of the firm in 1996.

In 1993, Ms. Blue became the first female Board Certified Criminal Trial Attorney in the Twelfth Judicial Circuit, remaining board certified in criminal trial law until 2008. During this time, less than 1% of Florida's 80,000 attorneys had been certified by the Florida Bar as specialists in criminal trial law. Less than 1% of Florida's 80,000 attorneys have been certified by the Florida Bar as specialists in civil trial law. Ms. Blue remained board certified in civil trial law until 2010.

Ms. Blue has been honored in 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009 as one of the Florida Super Lawyers in the Family Law category. Published by Key Professional Media, Inc., Super Lawyers is a list identifying the top 5 percent of attorneys in each state as chosen by their peers and through the independent research of Law & Politics. Only 6% of Florida lawyers are selected as Florida Super Lawyers. In addition to Ms. Blue’s Family Law practice, she also practices in the area of personal injury.
