R. Laine Wilson Harris earned her undergraduate degree from Oglethorpe University in Atlanta, Georgia with Honors in 2000 and received her Juris Doctor from the Florida State University College of Law in 2003. During law school she participated in the Oxford Program at St. Edmunds Hall in Oxford, England, was recipient of an FSU College of Law Scholarship for academic achievement, was a member of the Florida State University Business Law Review, and served as secretary of the Women’s Law Symposium.

After law school, Mrs. Harris clerked in the Florida Appellate Court system, first in central staff in the First District Court of Appeal researching and preparing memos regarding post-conviction motions then as law clerk for the Honorable Carolyn K. Fulmer of the Second District Court of Appeal, researching, preparing and presenting case summaries and analysis for civil and criminal actions on appeal.
